Helping Miracles Along

I love my job! I meet the nicest people, like those I met at Dr. Courtney's office today. I get to talk about natural healing and essential oils everywhere I go. I hear hope in people's voices and see excitement on their faces. I have the privilege of watching people transform their health, increase their confidence and begin pursuing their purpose in life with more commitment.

I started reading a book by Og Mandino called The Greatest Miracle in the World. I was struck by this paragraph,
"Most humans, in varying degrees, are already dead. In one way or another they have lost their dreams, their ambitions, their desire for a better life. They have surrendered their fight for self-esteem and they have compromised their great potential. They have settled for a life of mediocrity, days of despair and nights of tears. They are no more than living deaths confined to cemeteries of their choice. Yet they need not remain in that state. They can be resurrected from their sorry condition. They can each perform the greatest miracle in the world. They can each come back from the dead..."
This passage resonated with me. I was moved to realize that in some small way I shine a light which allows people to see that they have settled for less than the fullest life. I help them regain hope and give them the encouragement to start again on the road to better health, a more positive attitude and greater purpose. Of course, it is always God that does the real work of "resurrection", but I can be His instrument. You can too.

Pope Francis stated this in a homily in May 2013. He writes,
" Man of every time and place desires a full and beautiful life, just and good, a life that is not threatened by death, but can still mature and grow to fullness. Man is like a traveler who, crossing the deserts of life, thirsts for the living water: gushing and fresh, capable of quenching his deep desire for light, love, beauty, and peace."
We all desire a rich life full of meaning.  Better health can aid the journey and allow the traveler to focus less on their ailments and more on living their God given purpose. What a blessed adventure!

In what ways are you joining this adventure? Are you becoming more alive? Are you helping others find a fuller life?
